Last month, we celebrated Sprout’s first birthday. I still can’t believe it: she’s now officially a toddler!
Because this is a busy period for our full-time office jobs, Francis and I did not have the time to prepare for her birthday. (We both work at DepEd and Sprout’s birthday coincided with the first week of face-to-face classes.) We’re not sure we can pull-off a children’s party version of our DIY wedding in 2020.
If you also want to hold a fuss-free party, here is everything you need to know about holding your little one’s birthday at Shakey’s.
Why Choose Shakey’s
San Jose City has several all-inclusive fast food party venues to choose from. We have Jollibee, McDonalds, Chowking, Max’s, Gerry’s Grill, and Shakey’s, among others. Shakey’s is already a personal favorite and also quite affordable.
In addition, Shakey’s is the only venue with vegan/vegetarian options on the menu if you have plant-based guests.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to secure the list of different party rates but we paid a total of PhP 24,125 for 70 persons. The food includes: 1 chicken (choice of regular or spicy), mojos, pizza, and pasta, and a giant party pizza.
Shakey’s San Jose City offers ready themes like “Baby by Dreamworks”, but if you inquired early, you can have a custom theme for no additional cost. For Sprout’s birthday, we had three options in mind: Pokemon, Unicorn (because of Encanto’s Luisa), and Pinoy Fiesta. In the end, we settled on Pinoy Fiesta and, as you can see in the photo, Shakey’s San Jose City did a tremendous job.
(Only the setup is Pinoy Fiesta, though. I really wanted the Unicorn so her cake, loot bags, and first dress were unicorn.)
Party Package Inclusions
- Free hosting
- Free mascot appearance
- Use of function room for a minimum of 3 hours
- Sound system
- Optional customized theme for PhP 3,000 (balloons, 2 pillars, Happy Birthday banner, game prizes, others)
For Sprout’s party, we opted out of the customized theme because we did not want balloons. We also prepared our own prizes for the kids’ games.
- You may bring additional food (ours was lechon and cake) but you have to sign a waiver.
How to Schedule a Shakey’s Party
- Head to your nearest Shakey’s place. An officer will be assigned to you.
- Block the date and time.
- Choose your theme.
- Choose your party package.
- Choose the food and whether you want buffet-style or plated.
- Pay the non-refundable reservation fee of PhP 3,000. This is deductible from your final bill. (Keep the official receipt to be shown on the day.)
You will have to pay for the rest of the bill after the party. Shakey’s San Jose City accepts cash, credit/debit card, and Gcash.
All in all, Francis and I are happy with our choice of Shakey’s San Jose City to kickstart Sprout’s toddlerhood. Thanks, Shakey’s!
